In this episode, the Reno Dads podcast sits down with Shane Whitecloud, a local dad who has been working with various veterans groups in northern Nevada for more than ten years.
One of the programs that Shane has been most active with is called the Veterans Resource Centers of America. There are a number of these centers in northern Nevada and California that are a valuable source of information, counseling, and programs that are aimed at assisting veterans with their transition back into civilian life, or to help them as they continue to navigate after they’ve served in the military.
Shane also has created his own non-profit aimed at veteran job seekers, called Operation Employ. While it’s still early in its existence, the goal is to help employers connect with veterans as a resource of skilled labor, and also to help veterans find companies that are looking for veterans to hire.
