Bena wrote and choreographed this traditional holiday show and was awarded a 2015 “Challenge America” grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to present this work. KTMB’s Christmas Tree Recycling Program provides community residents with an easy alternative to dumping trees in the landfill or- as is sometimes seen- in the open spaces. Trees are chipped into mulch that is used for park and weed abatement projects and is available for free to area residents at the Bartley Ranch and Rancho San Rafael drop-off sites. We partner with Washoe County Parks and Open Spaces, City of Reno, City of Sparks, and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District on this program to ensure that trees are kept out of our open spaces, reducing the risk of fire in the summer months.
